How to create and install your own Wengovisio widget ?

The Wengovisio widget is a web-based application using the flash plugin of your browser to send and receive audio and video flow from your interlocutor.

Following you will find the detailed process from the creation of the widget to its integration in a blog.

Generate the Wengovisio widget

• Connect to the website Wengovisio.

• Click on Get it now.

• You're on the page Create your widget.

Two options :

• • You already have a Wengo account (Wengo's Community, Wengophone) :

Already a wengo user allows you to create a Wengovisio widget from your Wengo account.

• • You don't have a Wengo account : You have to Create a new account in order to use the widget

• Within this page, you can customize your widget : enter the url of your blog and introduce yourself.

• Click on Final Step to get the HTML code of the Wengovisio widget.

• You can copy the code of your widget to install it on your blog (or on a webpage)

Install the widget on your blog

Once the widget is created and you have the code, you can install it on your blog. The Wengovisio widget contains JavaScript.

Typepad

Wengo has a partnership with Typepad : so the installation of the Wengovisio widget on a Typepad blog is simplified.

You don't need to quit the last page of the widget creation on Wengovisio.com :

• Click on the Typepad logo in order to install the widget on your Typepad blog.

• If you were not yet connected, then enter your Typepad nickname and password.

• Choose the blog which will contain the widget. Enter the name of the widget.

On the right side appears a page displaying the way it will look like on your blog.

You just have to click on Add the widget for ending the installation of the widget on your Typepad blog.

Blogger

Blogger is a blogging service provided by Google. You can customize your blogspot with mods. One of them allows you to add HTML/JavaScript code.

To installe the Wengovisio widget :

• Connect to Blogger

• Click on Layout

• Click on Add a page element

• Click on HTML/JavaScript

• Paste the HTML code on the element.

• Here's the result!

Blogspirit

Blogspirit is a weblog provider that allows you to add mods with HTML/JavaScript code.

• Connect to your Blogspirit account.

• Click on Design .

• Click on Sidebar content

• Down in the page, you can create a custom item.

You can paste the HTML/JavaScript code generated by Wengovisio, and then click on Add this item.

• You see the custom item you've just entered. You must now add it to the left or right sidebar.

• Once the mod is added on the page, click on Update information.

Use the widget without blog

You can also use the Wengovisio widget without any blog : Wengo provides you with a web page dedicated to your widget.

You can also use the web portal (RSS feeds agregator) Netvibes.

If you use the Wengovisio widget from Netvibes, in order to communicate with your friends, you'll have to install the widget on a public weblog or you'll have to give them the link to your dedicated webpage on Wengovisio.

Take care to replace YOURNICK by your Wengo account nickname.

Create a link to your widget

You can also create a link in a HTML page (e-mail, web page) : copy the below html code (by replacing YOURNICK with your nickname) :

Netvibes

Netvibes is a web-portal using mini API web-based and RSS feeds. (you want to know more about Netvibes ?)

The Wengovisio widget is also available on Netvibes : Wengovisio widget for Netvibes.

Click on the box + Netvibes to add this external mod to your Netvibes page.

Once the mod is installed on your Netvibes, you have to change the settings to connect on your widget :

• Click on Edit

• Enter your Wengo nickname

• Click on Admin

• Enter your password

• You're now logged on your widget.

Each widget belongs to a nickname. So, if you've installed the widget on a blog, on your Netvibes page and in your webmail signature (all for your nickname), so you can communicate with someone, beginning the communication indifferently from one of the pages which have the widget installed.
