Minimum requirements

The Wengomeeting application is supported by the following operating systems :

  • Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista
  • Apple Mac Os X
  • GNU/Linux

You must have the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player plugin, available at http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer


Create a conference

Send invitations

You need to have a Wengo account to create a Wengomeeting, in case you have not already subscribed to a Wengo account, you will be prompted to create a free Wengo account to confirm the creation of the meeting.

Click on Set up a video conference now ! in 2 steps




  • 1 Enter the e-mail addresses of your contacts. Enter only you guests email addresses at that stage, not your own one.
  • 2 Choose the meeting date and time. Note that the time of the Wengomeeting calendar is based on GMT 1.
  • 3 Customize your message : enter the subject of the conference and add a comment for your guests. These two fields are mandatory.
  • If you want to be notified by an e-mail, you can tick the box I want to receive an email alert

Then click on Send



  • If you have a Wengo account, fill the form Already Wengo user
  • If you are not already a Wengo user, you can create an account now by clicking on Create your host account


Then Click on Next



Your conference is created. You can find all the meeting details on this page.


An invitation e-mail has been sent to your friends who'll take part in the conference. A recap e-mail has been sent to you. All e-mails contain private links (url) to the conference.



Export to Microsoft Outlook

In the previous page, Wengo proposes a tool allowing you to export to Microsoft Outlook a meeting created on Wengomeeting.

To export your meeting, download the Wengomeeting.vcs file and open it in Outlook : It will be automatically installed in your Outlook Calendar.


Take part in a conference

To take part in a Wengomeeting conference, click on the link you've received within the invitation e-mail.

You're now on the page of the WengoMeeting conference : the name of the conference (settled by the creator of the conference) and his comment are displayed. You also see your friends' videos all around your own video (from your webcam).

If you can't see your own video, check that your Operating System supports your material (webcam and microphone), then unplug and plug your devices. If your video is still not displayed, you'll have to configure the settings of Flash Player as in the following steps :


Right-click on the Wengomeeting window ==> Settings

You're now in the Flash player settings window. This window is divided into 4 sections.


Privacy

The first thing to do is to allow button.wdeal.com to access your camera and microphone => choose Allow and check Remember if you do not want to be prompted each time you use the widget.

Local Storage

This section defines the user preferences regarding the cache size to be used by the Flash plugin with the widget. You can leave the default parameter (100ko)the way they are.

Microphone

In this section you can choose the microphone you want to use.


You may have the choice between many recording devices such as your soundcard mic input or your webcam built-in microphone. Use the dropdown menu to choose a device.

Here you can select the webcam you want to use.

Once the camera is choosen, you can preview its output by clicking the Flash-webcam.png icon

Common problems

My camera is well recognized but I still don't get any image

Please check tha no other application is using your camera and relaunch your web browser


I have no sound under GNU/Linux

- Check that you're using the latest version of the flash plugin

- Quit all other applications that may be using your soundcard

- kill esd or arts daemon depending on your desktop environment
